Extensive customization for a Desk.com support center
that needed some love

Twelve South creates beautiful accessories designed exclusively for Apple. Their innovative products enhance, protect, and personalize the experience of using your favorite Apple device.
Twelve South had been working with a different provider that recently stopped offering customization and therefore their Desk.com support portal was ‘in desperate need of some love’. Twelve South wanted to keep functionality they had and add some extra customizations. As Twelve South’s team is comfortable with HTML/CSS, they also wanted to be able to update brands, topics, and articles within their Desk.com dashboard on their own in future.
We took the Fraser theme as a basis and made basic changes like colors, fonts, background image and icons (branding service).
As a next step, we customized the support portal structure according to the customer’s needs. The homepage of the primary brand contains a list of boxes for all brands with icons and links to specific articles for each brand. Article links within the brand tile open corresponding pages where users also see ‘Related Questions’ from the same topic. If a user clicks on ‘View All’ button from the homepage brand tile, it takes them to the Topics page where a product image and the top articles are shown within each tile. If a user clicks ‘View all’ from the topic list, it shows them the list of articles within that topic.
The rest of the customization had to do with matching the page navigation to Twelve South’s ecommerce site. This included a logo link to the main page of the website, header menu links ’Product Finder’ and ‘Store’, and a footer menu.
